Each year the Arizona Humane Society celebrates World Spay Day in a big way and this year was no exception!   AHS public clinic staff, along with AHS mascot, Humane Eddy, spent Tuesday, February 26 at Tempe Marketplace handing out free spay/neuter vouchers in an effort to combat pet overpopulation in our community; a community that ranks only second to LA County in pet overpopulation.   The 500 free vouchers, courtesy of eBay and AHS' Circle of Friends, were a huge hit amongst responsible pet owners resulting in 100 vouchers given out each hour from 7 a.m. to noon. Yet the fight against pet overpopulation didn't end there as 50 percent off and $10 off vouchers were handed out throughout the day. At day's end, over 700 vouchers were dispersed throughout the Valley as the community came together to fight an epidemic.   AHS would like to give a very special thank you to eBay, AHS' Circle of Friends, Tempe Marketplace and BP Graphics for their support of World Spay Day 2013!   World Spay Day Media Coverage: Good Evening Arizona - 3TV ABC 15 News at 11 a.m. Fox 10 Arizona Morning @ 7 a.m. 12 News Today
