AHS is Committed to Fighting Pet Overpopulation in Arizona

AHS, along with its Fix.Adopt.Save partners, is hosting the fifth annual World Spay Day event at Tempe Marketplace on Tuesday, February 28 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. AHS and Altered Tails will be distributing a total of 500 $20 spay/neuter vouchers to Valley pet owners courtesy of AHS’ Circle of Friends, the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust and PetSmart Charities. Spaying or neutering offers a variety of health benefits to your pet, including reducing the risk of your pet contracting many life-threatening conditions, and is also the most effective way to reduce the number of homeless pets in our community. World Spay Day: $20 Spay/Neuter Voucher Special* Tuesday, February 28 from 7 to 12 p.m. Tempe Marketplace – District Plaza (near Dave and Buster’s) 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway Tempe, AZ 85281 *$20 due upon receipt of voucher. CASH ONLY. Voucher cost includes surgery and pain medication. While supplies last. First come, first served. The event, complete with AHS’ mascot, Humane Eddy, will not only include an unprecedented amount of low-cost spay/neuter vouchers, but will also include 200 free vaccination vouchers, courtesy of the Arizona Animal Welfare League, for pets needing their vaccinations in the month of March. In addition, the Animal Defense League of Arizona’s Spay Neuter Hotline will be on hand with additional information regarding Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Programs and resources for outdoor cats. The Arizona Humane Society and Fix.Adopt.Save have made great strides in decreasing the number of animals entering Valley shelters by providing a variety of resources to pet owners, while also decreasing euthanasia, yet spaying and neutering remains the most effective way to reduce the number of homeless pets in our community. It is imperative that pet owners take advantage of these affordable and convenient services offered Valleywide.
