Hard-working cats now employed!

Our working cats, who are not suited for indoor living, would love to spend their lives helping to control your warehouse, ranch, mill or barn’s rodent and pest population. All they ask for in return is shelter, food, water and care.

Over these past few weeks, our hard-working cats have been hitting the road to lend a helping paw at Arizona farms and rural areas and to begin their new adventures in life. Seven of our most qualified felines received job offers in Tucson, Arizona last week through our Working Cats Program. The felines will spend their lives assisting with critter round-up the way nature intended. working cats This past week, four of our working cats set up shop on three acres of horse property in Rio Verde, Arizona. The cats will be enjoying a cooler donated by Penguin Air until they acclimate to their surroundings. working cats

Have Rodent’s Running Rampant? Our Cats Can Help!

The Arizona Humane Society’s Working Cats Program offers an environmentally-safe alternative to poisonous pest controls. Best of all, when you give our cats a job, you are saving the lives of homeless pets who otherwise would not have been suitable for adoption. There is no adoption fee for working cats, who are all spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, but a donation will help ensure future cats will be able to join the program and go to work. We will transport the cats to you and we will provide all of the supplies you need to help your cats adapt to their new environment, including:
  • Enclosure
  • Food
  • Bedding
  • Litter box and litter
If you would like more information on our Working Cats Program, please call our Alternative Placement Department at 602.997.7585 Ext. 2156. *Minimum of two cats.
