Talk about a transformation! Misty, a 6-year-old Toy Poodle, was rescued by one of AHS’ EAMTs after receiving an animal cruelty investigation request. Upon arrival, our EAMT discovered a severely matted, neglected pup who had an untreated Urinary Tract Infection for the past nine months. Needless to say, this poor girl was in desperate need of medical attention and a groom. Along with the many lifesaving programs and services AHS has to offer, AHS’ Second Chance Animal Hospital is dedicated to providing care for animals with nowhere else to turn. Second Chance Animal Hospital Pet Groomer and Docent Volunteer, Lisa, took this pup under her wing and transformed her into a whole new dog. Along with her groom, one of AHS' SCAH veterinarians, Dr Egar, surgically removed three enormous bladder stones from Misty. She then spent the following month in the home of an AHS Foster Hero while recovering from surgery. During the stay in her foster home, her Foster Hero, Monty, fell in love with Misty and decided to adopt her and make her part of his family! misty
