Sparkle, an adorable two-year-old Miniature Pinscher, is one of the many sad stories the Arizona Humane Society sees involving hit-and-run accidents.
After hobbling and collapsing in a nearby yard, a Good Samaritan saw her in pain and called our emergency dispatch line. A team of our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ were on the scene within minutes and rushed her to our Second Chance Animal Hospital™.
After a thorough examination by our veterinary staff, it was clear that Sparkle was lucky to be alive. Her back feet were wounded and so swollen that she couldn't walk. X-rays revealed that she also had a fractured leg. Fortunately, she reached us just in time for the critical care she needed.
Sparkle's bright spirit and determination pulled her through the night. After leaving critical care, she began a stay with one of our amazing foster heroes to finish her eight-week recovery on the road to adoption!
Sparkle is one of the hundreds of homeless pets who will be spending the holidays with us. Without the lifesaving emergency services at our Second Chance Animal Hospital, her story would have had a much different ending.
Thanks to the support of people like you, we can make Sparkle's stay a little warmer, a little merrier and a whole lot brighter. Stuff a stocking for a pet in need and help save the lives of Sparkle and her friends!
