January celebrates National Train Your Dog Month, and the Arizona Humane Society’s certified trainers are here to help with all of your dog behavior needs!
Dealing with pet behavior issues or just want to teach your pup the basics? The Arizona Humane Society offers training programs for dogs of all ages and skill levels! Our courses are taught by certified trainers and are structured to give you and your pet the attention you need to succeed.
- Private Lessons: We are excited to offer in-home private dog training lessons. To protect the health of you and our trainers, and in following CDC guidelines, our trainers will be temperature tested before meeting with you, will wear face coverings, and will be maintaining six feet of social distancing during training sessions. Half hour lessons cost $60 and one hour lessons cost $100 (availability depends upon location). Plus, schedule a private training lesson in January and receive 20% off registration for a future class! Course topics include but are not limited to dog reactivity, puppy training, household manners, leash walking, confidence building, and more. Learn more!
- Virtual Lessons: While we have recently re-opened private in-home lessons, we know some may still prefer no-contact training lessons at this time. We offer video consultations via Zoom, Skype or FaceTime, so your furry friend doesn’t have to skip a beat in their training. These half hour video lessons cost only $20, and are perfect for getting those much-needed questions answered by our highly trained staff. Learn more!
- Gift Certificates: Do you know someone who loves spending time and bonding with their dog? Give the gift of dog training with the Arizona Humane Society! Gift certificates can be applied to the cost of any private lesson or group class taught by one of our certified trainers. Gift certificates are available in values of $25, $50, and $100 and expire one year after purchase date. Learn more!
AHS’ certified trainers use positive reinforcement, force-free, and science-based methods in pet training. Our certified trainers use a variety of training methods that suit a dog and his or her family’s individual needs while following effective techniques based on scientific evidence. They are committed to continuing their education surrounding the latest humane and ethical training methods.
To ensure safety, all visitors entering AHS property, including buildings and parking lots, are required to wear masks at all times without exception. To protect the health of you and our trainers, we will be following CDC guidelines by wearing masks, temperature testing prior to class, and enforcing social distancing. Group classes are temporarily unavailable due to the pandemic.
