Missing For a Year, Blue Reunited With Family Thanks to Microchip

Written by: Kimberly Ring
BlueA year ago, Blue went missing. Thanks to a microchip, he’s now back home.   Blue, a 4-year-old pit bull disappeared from his home last year, leaving owners Jose and Jasmine devastated, believing they’d lost their furry family member forever.   In March, however, a Good Samaritan found Blue and searched for Blue’s owner for more than a month before eventually surrendering him to AHS. Thankfully, our team discovered that Blue had a microchip and immediately called Jose, who was in shock that his loving companion had been found. And after nearly a year apart, Blue was reunited with his family during a tearful reunion.   Blue’s story reminds us of the importance of microchipping your pet. The sad reality is that one out of every three pets become lost at some point during their lifetime. And without proper identification, 90 percent will never return home. But by microchipping your pet, you can more than double the odds of finding your missing furry friend.   In celebration of National Pet ID Week this week, our clinics will be offering a $20 microchip special through the end of April.   Margaret McAllister Brock Veterinary Clinic 1521 W.
