Luke the rescue labLuke the Rescued Lab is a lucky guy.

On March 3rd, AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ Nicole McCormick was dispatched to help rescue 8-year-old Luke, who had fallen into a 12-foot-deep reservoir well.   McCormick teamed up with the Phoenix Fire Department, who removed part of a large steel grate to reach Luke and pull him to safety. Luke was extremely thin, dehydrated and limping on his left hind leg. He was treated and stabilized at our Second Chance Animal Hospital™, but his good news didn’t end there.   Our Second Chance staff discovered that Luke had a microchip and was able to locate his owner. Two days later, lucky Luke and his pet parent, Michelle, were reunited.   Michelle said Luke had been missing for three weeks, was wearing a different collar and was found miles from her home. If not for his microchip with up-to-date information, he may have never found his way back to her.   Visit our webpage for more information about the importance of microchips and how they can help greatly increase the chances of finding your pet should he or she ever become lost.
