Last week, you gathered with friends and family to give thanks for the joy and blessings in your lives. Today, on Giving Tuesday, we invite you to pay it forward and give hope to homeless pets like Holly and Kallie by stuffing a stocking for a pet in need.
Holly, a 5-month-old Labrador puppy was found wondering the streets of central Phoenix by our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ extremely ill and malnourished. She was brought to our Second Chance Animal Hospital™, where our veterinarians discovered she was completely infested with ticks, from her ears down to her paws.
Blood tests revealed that poor Holly had tick fever, and she is now spending the holidays recovering with one of our compassionate foster families.
Kallie, an 11-week-old kitten, was found squeezed into a tiny, filthy crate with several other kittens on the back porch of a hoarding home by our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians. Little Kallie and her helpless feline friends sat outside for days without any shelter from the elements and were lucky to survive. Kallie, who weighs less than a pound, is now getting all the love and care she needs with one of our compassionate foster families while she adds the necessary weight to be safely spayed so she can prepare for her adoption day.
Giving Tuesday is a national day of giving and the charitable alternative to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Today on Giving Tuesday, show Holly and Kallie that we can do more with our wallets this holiday season than just shop.
Help make Holly’s and Kallie's stays a little warmer, a little merrier and whole lot brighter.
