Sign them up for our Humane Ed-Ventures!   All Humane Ed-Ventures take place at our Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion and include both a youth track (ages 8-12) and a teen track (ages 13-16). For more information, visit our Humane Education page.   CREATING COMPASSIONATE CLASSROOMS AND COMMUNITIES September 28, Noon-4 p.m. This service-oriented camp is designed to acquaint kids and teens with what they can do to help animals by raising awareness in their schools and communities while earning important community service hours and invaluable experience! Children will meet special animal visitors, engage in service-oriented crafts and activities and take a tour of the shelter. Register Now!   PET SAFETY & BASIC FIRST AID October 19, Noon-4 p.m. This safety-oriented camp will teach kids what they can do to keep pets safe in our community. We’ll learn about safe toys, training practices and even plants, and attendees will receive basic first aid instruction from one of our staff members. Campers will also have a special animal visitor, enjoy crafts and activities and tour AHS’ shelter. Register Now!   FUTURE VET 101 November 16, Noon-4 p.m. Children and teens will learn the very basics of veterinary medicine and see how our own veterinarians care for the animals in our community. We’ll discuss the anatomy and physiology of dogs and cats as well as the diseases they encounter and how to keep our own animal companions safe. Attendees will also learn about what young aspiring veterinarians need to do now to prepare for their future veterinary studies. Children will enjoy a visit from a special animal, participate in fun activities and tour our shelter. Register Now!   CRITTER CRAFTERS December 14, Noon-4 p.m. An annual favorite, our Critter Crafters Humane Ed-venture is a day of fun as campers create holiday gifts for two- and four-legged family members. We’ll review the importance of keeping animal companions safe around the holidays. In addition to crafting, campers will take a tour of our shelter and enjoy a visit from a special animal.
