Monday, October 8: Fast and the Furriest
Bound through this action-packed day where we look at the high-energy lives of working animals! From agility to seeing-eye services, animals have the ability to do amazing jobs. Through hands-on animal interactions and special animal guests, we’ll explore how certain skills like super speed and smarts help some animals make a difference in the lives of people.
Tuesday, October 9: Veterinary U
Campers will throw on their lab coats and explore the exciting, and sometimes gross, world of veterinary medicine. Through experiments, animal interactions, and medical training such as introduction to pet CPR, young scientists will learn some of what it takes to enter this thrilling career field.
Wednesday, October 10: Jr. EAMT Academy
Young animal enthusiasts will learn from real-life Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ and interact with a variety of exciting animals! During this hands-on learning experience, Jr. EAMTs will practice field medicine techniques, learn how to use rescue equipment, follow a mock investigation, and more!
Thursday, October 11: Animal Training 101
During this day of training, treats, and targets, campers will learn the ins-and-outs of animal behavior basics. We’ll examine specific body language, create engaging behavioral enrichment (toys and games!) to better the lives of shelter pets, and measure how our own actions influence the behavior of our pets.
Friday, October 12: Wild about Wildlife!
Kid conservationists will spend the day surrounded by a variety of animals as they learn about the importance of teamwork through this collaborative partnership camp. Through compassion, preservation, and conservation, organizations like the Arizona Humane Society, Phoenix Herpetological Society, and more will work together to be champions for all life.
