Spay and Neuter Your Puppies and Kittens
Puppies can go into heat at just 5 months old whereas kittens can go into heat at just 4 months old!
To reduce these accidental births,
the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) and
Altered Tails, with funding provided by
PetSmart Charities, is introducing the
Did You Know? Campaign, featuring a special $20 spay or neuter surgery for puppies and kittens under six months of age during the month of June.
While some pet parents may worry that their pet is too young for this procedure, spaying and neutering is safe and easy for kittens and puppies as young as eight to 10 weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association. In fact, AHS performed over 20,000 spay/neuter surgeries last year alone and many were considered pediatric spay/neuter surgeries.
Thanks to the PetSmart Charities grant, AHS will provide 150 puppy and kitten sterilizations for $20 during June, a special rate that is even less than AHS’ already low-cost service and is available to all residents of Maricopa County. Please call 602.997.7586 for more information or to schedule an appointment as space is limited and will fill up fast.
Pet parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Did You Know?” promotion when they call to schedule their appointment.
