Arizona PBS & FOX 10: Pet Heat Safety

• AHS' Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ (EAMTs) receive 40-50 calls per day for rescue services and suspected animal cruelty. Nearly half of these calls are related to heat.
• In Arizona's extreme heat, make sure to limit exercise, refrain from hiking (the City of Phoenix has banned hiking with dogs in 100+ degree weather), provide plenty of cool water, do not leave pets in cars, and do not allow their paws to burn on the hot pavement.
