AHS’ Volunteer Spotlight
Big paws up to Caitlyn Murphy!Caitlyn is just one of our many fantastic volunteers who goes the extra mile and dedicates her time to helping the animals and the community. She became a volunteer because, “It’s an opportunity to be a friend and an advocate for the dogs that need it.” Caitlyn is a special education teacher by trade and has recently used these skills to help out our education department with the Animal Rescue Squad mini-camps. For the past two camps, Caitlyn has spent her Saturdays leading a group of kids through a shelter tour, aiding in craft projects, and keeping them engaged as they learn about out EAMTs, behavior team, and veterinary staff. She has done so with a big smile on her face and a positive attitude throughout the day. “Caitlyn has worked tirelessly helping with our youth camps this month," says Kayla Fulk, AHS Community Outreach & Education Coordinator, who oversees the camps. "She brings experience, enthusiasm and energy to everything she does while at AHS!” Caitlyn has been a volunteer with the Arizona Humane Society since 2012. When she’s not helping out with special projects, she keeps busy by socializing and walking the dogs at our Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion and helping them find their fur-ever homes. Caitlyn says she loves volunteering because, “I love to provide support, socialization, and cuddles to our dogs while waiting for their new families, especially our Pit Bulls!”
