This Saturday, you can help save the lives of pets like Bella and Reeces.   Bella-Small.pngBella was caught in an apartment fire and found on the front porch severely burned. The Arizona Humane Society’s Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ were called to the devastating scene and Bella was transferred to AHS’ Second Chance Animal Hospital™ trauma center. The four-year-old Tortie’s whiskers were singed off, and she had first-degree burns to her paws as well as a spot on her belly where a piece of plastic had melted to her skin. Sadly, one of Bella’s most serious burns did not heal correctly, and she needed to have a leg amputated. But after spending several weeks recovering with one of AHS’ compassionate foster families, Bella was adopted to a loving home.   Recces-Small.pngReeces, meanwhile, nearly lost his life after ingesting rat poison. Thankfully, our EAMTs™ rescued the 14-week-old puppy and brought him to Second Chance Animal Hospital. The puppy was bleeding profusely from his nose and had lost so much blood that he required a blood transfusion to survive. Reeces has spent the past several weeks getting plenty of care and love with a compassionate foster family while he continues his recovery and will soon be ready to find his forever home.   You can meet Reeces when you tune in Saturday, August 23rd to AHS’ 16th Annual Pet Telethon at 12:30 p.m. on 3TV. You’ll also hear other inspirational stories of survival from those who serve on the front lines, AHS’ EAMTs, veterinarians and amazing volunteers, and learn how you can help heal the broken bones and mend the broken hearts of thousands of pets with nowhere else to turn. Best of all, you’ll be able to double your impact and help us save the lives of twice as many pets like Bella and Reeces, as all online donations will be matched up to $60,000!   Join us as we celebrate the Summer to Save Lives, and help give a second chance to pets like Reeces, Bella and thousands of their friends.
